From Hot Rats (1969). I’m genuinely surprised that Hot Rats is a 60s album. There must be some kind of mistake. This is firmly entrenched in my mind not just as a product of the 70s but the very embodiment of the 70s.
One of Zappa’s great instrumental pieces. Full of whimsy, mock epic exclamations, kooky cornball twists, and a surprising amount of warmth and nostalgia.
