Tokyo Tower

It was thought that Tokyo Tower (opened 1958) would be upstaged by the much taller and more spectacular Tokyo Skytree (opened 2012), but it hasn’t worked out that way.
It turns out they’re more like buddies, or at worst friendly rivals that know they set each other off to mutual advantage. Tokyo Tower, in addition to being just plain pretty, and brightening up the Tokyo skyline day and night, also has retro appeal now, and it’s in a great location.
You can see if from many places but there’s a nice, dramatic view of it looming behind Zojoji temple. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu used this location in her au cm for exactly this reason.

In my recent excursion, I had a great view of it from the hotel room window day and night.
tt night
Viva Tokyo Tower!
