For a song released in 1998, it certainly has the feel of the 70’s.
Since funk is a quintessential 70s genre and Scofield is the quintessential jazz-funk guitarist, you gotta be right, Ms. Cranium.
Probably explains why I enjoyed it so much. 🙂
