The Girl from Ipanema & Martina DaSilva

The Girl from Ipanema (Antônio Carlos Jobim) covered by Flor da Saudade with the golden voice of Martina DaSilva.

I can’t identify the other musicians. Martina DaSilva came to my attention when I watched this fascinating musical breakdown of the song by Adam Neely:

Then somebody did a great service to humanity by isolating just Martina DaSilva’s part of the video:

This has to be the most haunting version of TGfI ever. 

UPDATE: AzsaturnDX  provided a link to Adam Neely’s complete audio version at this link. This is going to be the definitive version of tGfI for me.

      Thanks so much! Dang, that’s good. My favorite version for sure. The only thing better I can imagine is watching Martina DaSilva sings it all the way through as I listen.

      They should do a whole album like this, with the Jobim/Gilberto canon.
